20 degrees! Quoi!?

Holy Mary Mother of God – I forgot about the weather.  In all the excitement around going home for a couple of weeks, I totally forgot about the insane, bitter cold.

I had been  envisioning brunching with my friends at an outdoor cafe on Wells Street.  Or running alongside Labradors and cyclists on the lake path.  I FORGOT that instead I will be darting quickly between my garage door to the car door and will need to warm up the seats immediately to defrost from that few second trek.  Eeek!

As much as I miss Chicago, I have never missed the cold.

  1. today it’s 62 degrees in chicago and sunny. i won’t tell you what tomorrow’s supposed to be like, though.

have a great brunch place in greektown for you and your girlfriends – meli cafe. check out their website…i go there 3 times a month.

  2. I found your blog via your sister’s via someone else via someone else, etc. I spent the last hour or so reading the entire history and I must say it’s extremely interesting. I admire you for what you are doing, for very few people (probably including myself) would give up the Western way of living to help others the way you are.

  3. safe travels Kash- when can I call you!? PS – tell dave it really is okay to stay with us :)

  4. PS – I totally agree with you on the past ten years. You certainly have me beat but I think my head is still spinning. Maybe this is why I have migraines now. I have moved over ten times in the past ten years and flip flopped between the east coast and the west coast for four of those moves. Since college I have had 2 jobs and 4 internships (let’s hope the third job is not far behind instead of the 7th internship). Through all this, Phil and Solo are my constants (maybe not companions, but Phil certainly has been a constant! :) )
